Some of the basic requirements for Immigration under the General Skilled Migration Program:

»	Age – must be less than 45 years at the time of application.
»	English Language – All the Applicants for General Skilled Migration visa are required to have competent English Language Proficiency. Documentary evidence has to be enclosed for the same.
»	Qualifications - An Applicant must possess a post secondary qualification which must be equivalent to Australian Bachelor’s Degree and also it has to be assessed by the relevant assessing authority as suitable for the nominated occupation
»	Nominated Occupation: When you apply, you must nominate a skilled occupation which fits your skills and qualifications. Your nominated occupation must be on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL).
»	Recent work experience: Documentary evidence has to be produced for the work experience you hold and you should be on the designated nomination for at least 12 months out of 24 months immediately before applying
»	Skills Assessment: Before you apply, you must have had your skills assessed by the relevant assessing authority for the designated nomination
