Partners Skills Assessment and its requirements for Australian Immigration

Australia is a wealthy country with a number of employment opportunities for overseas employees. For skilled employees who desire to migrate to Australia have a lot of immigration choices. The government of Australia has launched various Australian Skilled Immigration programs to select skilled employees to work in Australia in order to boost country’s economy.

Partners Skills Assessment:

Australian Skilled Immigration program is a point based scheme where an applicant must get qualified with minimum points in order to migrate to Australia.

Under Partners Skills Assessment applicants can claim extra points on their visa if their spouse or partner is also capable of fulfilling the essential requirements such as age, English language proficiency, has chosen a profession listed under SOL (skilled occupation list) as the main applicant, and should have acquired an appropriate skills assessment for applicable authority. Applicants should also fulfill the education requirement of Australia or should have a recent work experience in a skilled profession listed on SOL as the main applicant for minimum 12 months in the past 24 months prior to applying.

Partner skills points cannot be claimed if applicants’ partner is an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident or if they are not added in applicants’ visa application. If the main applicants’ partner or spouse fulfills the threshold requirements for Australian Skilled Immigration visa, 5 points are awarded.

Documents required for Partners Skills Assessment:

Applicants need to provide documentary proof to show that the partner have fulfilled all the essential requirements for a specific Australian Skilled visa an applicant is applying for. The following are the documents needs to provide under Partners Skills Assessment to migrate to Australia.

• Proof of age should be produced in order to ensure that are below 50 years
• Proof of proficient English language level

Should fulfill the education requirement of Australia in the previous six months prior to applying
