Australian Government is Planning to Increase Regional Visa Requirement

The Coalition government may present a plan which could see the least period that migrants on regional visas have to continue in the area of their profession increased from two to five years.
As per the report printed in The Australian, the cabinet of Morrison is presently considering a proposal to increase the mandatory regional settlement period for few migrants.
The Visa Streams that Possibly Affect
The legislation which was prior below consideration by the Turnbull government would possibly affect some visa streams, including the 489 Skilled (Provisional), Skilled Regional (Permanent) 887 visa program, and Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS).
The reshuffle noticed previous Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs, Alan Tudge who was earlier in charge of the recommended
regional visa scheme passed to the newly created position, Cities Minister, Urban Infrastructure and Population.
When requested by the media, the recently designated Immigration Minister, David Coleman, stated that he was not yet in a situation to discuss on the policy proposal, having only now taken on the role.
Questions remain over how the policy would definitely be achieved, with many pointing to potential legal disputes concerning the limitation of freedom of movement.
The Absolute Immigration CEO, Jamie Lingham, was encouraging for the suggested changes, stating that the program’s present settings are clearly leaving to work as expected.
The Australian government has many methods at their end to attract and hold people to these areas, and it is obvious that the present program and its time restrictions are not valid, he stated clearly in his speech.
